Principal's Message
DAEP Students and Families,
Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year! I am Carl Pleasant, and I am honored to serve as Principal of the District Alternative Education Campus, the "Bahamas". I am excited and ready to start this year with you one more time.
I believe that success is achieved by spending the effort that it takes to succeed. I am asking this staff, parents, and community to work together, so all students can achieve this goal. We strive to teach and model behaviors that allow students to learn personal responsibility, citizenship, and the tenants for fairness, integrity, and respect for themselves and others.
As a proud educator with 47 years of experience, 35 with Temple ISD; 19 of those as the Principal at Wheatley. "This work is more than a profession; it's a calling."
At the 'Bahamas" we believe in fresh starts, resilience, and the power of connection. I lead with collaboration because I know we are strong when we build together-student by student, moment by moment. We will embrace the core value of appropriate respect and responsibility with every student that enters our doors:
"Every Child, Every Day, Every Minute, Every Way"
We must take every moment to support student growth.
I AM DELIGHTED TO BE YOUR PRINCIPAL.
Carl Pleasant
